Visiting the beach? Here's the short version of what you can buy, what you can't, and what'll get you in trouble at the airport.

What you can buy

• CBD products (topicals, tinctures, gummies, beverages)
• Δ9 gummies and edibles (hemp-derived, less than 0.3% Δ9 by weight)
• THCA flower — but not across state lines (it's still federally illegal to transport)

What you can't

• Bring cannabis from home. NC is hemp-only at the state level — there is no recreational marijuana.
• Carry THCA flower back across state lines. Federal law applies at airports and state borders.
• Smoke on the beach. OBX towns ban smoking on public beaches, period.
